My Filter

Hi, I have a small 10 gallon aquarium with 6 Black Phantom Tetras. I have a Whisper filter, which has an output of about 90 gallons per hour. I just put in a new cartridge, and it's been under a week, but the water his been flowing out unfiltered in the intake tube section. What should I do?

Hi Bobby,
I have kept many different types of Tetra Whisper filters, and the reason that water keeps flowing out of the intake tube section is because your filter media is clogged. Don't replace the cartridge, as this would be unreasonable after only a week. Here's what you should do:

1) Take out the cartridge, and some tank water, about small bowl full.
2) Wash the foam/mesh, and rinse it in tank water (dechlorinated water.
3) Place it back into the tank, it should be better.
