wolf fish question

I just bought a wolf fish for myself after i got my new fish tank for Christmas. I did research on the fish before i bought it and i know what i am in for. the only thing that is bugging me and i can not find an answer for is do they change color.  i have noticed that during the day my wolf fish is a beautiful color with the solid black line running down him. But when i turn the lights back on in the morning or in the middle of the night, he seems to be almost a white color and the black band nearly disappears.  is this normal or is my fish different from other wolf fish.

Hi Gary,
I would consider it normal. Many fish fade in color when the lights are out. I see this with many larger fish like South American Cichlids, but even with small fish like tetras.

I wouldn't think its abnormal at all. As long as he looks healthy otherwise and is eating, all should be well.
