Question
hey nathan how are you?, matt here again and thanks for the answers on my last questions!!  i have a few fish that are glancing but have no signs of ich or other diseases that i can see. i've checked my water and everything is good like always, and i've added a little salt to see if that helps them but was wondering your thoughts on the situation? thanks for your help!

Answer
Hey Matt,

Glancing is either a sign of a parasite infection or other skin irritation. Scratching against rocks, or other ornaments, is almost always a sign of infection. Scratching is only the first stage of disease, in later stages, they will become lethargic (not moving), and will often hide in a corner, etc, with clamped fins.

The parasite/disease should show up soon, and be sure to check your fish very carefully! Perform 10% water changes - this will help the condition.

If you notice any signs or symptoms of disease, don't hesitate to contact me!

Good Luck, and I hope they recover!
