Hello i have a 55 gallon tank with 4" jewel cichlid, 4" kissing gourami, 5" silver dollar, 5" severum, 8" silver dollar, and 2" jack dempsey. i was wondering if i could get an oscar. thanks

Lets start with the fish. The Jewel Cichlid needs 40 gallons just for itself. The Kissing Gourami needs 30 gallons just for him. The silver dollars needs 40 gallons just for them.  The Severum needs 30 gallons just for it,and the Jack Dempsey needs 45 gallons just for him. These tank sizes are the minimum. So you can see that for the fish you have in the tank now, you needs to have a tank no smaller than 185 gallons. So I will have to say no you cannot put an Oscar in the tank because as you can see, you are seriously over populated.
