figure 8 puffer

I'm looking into getting a figure 8 puffer fish. I was wanting to know how big does their tank need to be ? Also if kids were to stick their hands in the tank , do you think the puffer would bite them ? thank you .

The puffer needs to be in no less than a 15 gallon aquarium because they grow to about 3 inches. Their water should be at least 76 degrees. They are aggressive fish, so i would say no fingers in the tank. :-}
