Question
QUESTION: hi i got a black moor about 2 days ago and it wont eat at all he doesn't even go to the top of the tank hes the large black moor and hes in a 1 gallon tank by himself please reply i need your help

ANSWER: Hi Aaron;

He's probably suffering from shock and also from lack of oxygen being in too small a tank. I'm so sorry you have been misled about what goldfish need. Goldfish are very messy guys that get very large so they need good filtration too. They actually can't live in anything smaller than 10 gallons because they are only babies when you first buy them. He will grow to be over 6 inches long. To keep him alive until you can get him a new tank change at least 50% of his water every day. Use a water conditioner and be sure the fresh water is the same temperature as the old water to prevent shock. Here is a web page about goldfish to help you more;

I hope he does okay...

QUESTION: im sorry to reply but i dnt have the money and the space to get a bigger tank so what should i do now

Answer
Hi Aaron;

It's perfectly okay to reply. I'm here to help you the best I can. It would be best for the fish to take him back to the store. He is not going to live very long in that tank even with daily water changes. If the store won't take your goldfish back after you tell them what an expert with many years of experience told you, gently place the fish on the counter and walk out. They don't deserve your business if they don't help you out after the mistake and didn't give you the proper information on how to care for the fish they sold you.

The only fish that can live in such a small tank with a low oxygen level is a betta. They have a special breathing apparatus that allows for it. They are very beautiful fish. Here is a good web page on how to care for one;
