Question
Hi there.. I got up this morning to find one of my black moors was tangled up  in the java moss.. I took it out and placed it in a bowl it looks like it's fins have been injured they have white marks on them..

Can you suggest a treatment.. Thank you..

Answer
Jan,

I would not treat the fish with anything right now. There is a good chance they will heal on their own. I would not put the goldfish in a bowl as it is way too small. If you can get a larger tank and place the injured fish in it.. In the small bowl, you will have to do 25% water changes daily. You have to keep the water very clean so that infection just not set in. I would add a little aquarium salt to the water to help heal the injuries. No more than 1 teaspoon per gallon of water. If the fish does not get better or gets worse let me know.
