i have a beta that i keep in a 6 gal filtered tand. he is in there with an algey eater. the betas tail looks as if it has frinfge at the ends now. am i doing something wrong? the tail looks a little shorter and choppy. i thank you for amny help you can give me.

Hi Mike;

The algae eater could be chewing on him. They can get pretty aggressive. You might want to return the algae eater to the fish store and get an apple snail instead. They eat algae and excess food without bothering the betta. They aren't the kind that overmultiply in the tank like the tiny ones do.
