betta no bubbles

im trying to mate my two bettas but theres a problem. when my male trys to make his bubble nest it always pops. everytime he makes about 2-5 bubbles they all just pop one by one. is it cause of the water or the betta.

Hi Cheng,

Try using some tall, fine leaved plants and keeping the water surface as still as possible (don't remove the filter though, just drop it down a bit) and keep the water well oxygenated.

Usually the male will replace bubbles that pop however it is possible he is a juvenile that is just practising. Young Bettas tend to build bubble-nests from time to time as they mature sexually.
