Hole in the Head in Oscars

Question
I have a red Oscar (about 8 inches) He has a hole in the head about the size of a BB.  I have began the more frequent water changes and it seems to have stopped the growth of the hole.  Will the hole heal itself or should I be treating my 75 galon tank with something like Hex-Out?

Hi Chris,
  The hole might heal itself. Your best bet is to continue with the water changes.  I have never used "hex-out" so I can't say how effective it is.
