Question
Hi I have a 96L tank and currently am trying to breed my Betas I have
1 red phantom tetra
7 neon tetra
6 Pristella tetra
2 Sterbai Cory
3 female fighting fish
1 male fighting fish

I would really like my fighting fish to breed and the male is trying but he still hasen't blowed a bubble nest yet. And any time the male gets close to any of the 3 females they just swim off. we got the females last week and currently 2 out of the 3 females are in season. The third one has just stopped being in season. Hope you can help,

Emily"

Answer
Emily,

Research is very important BEFORE you attempt anything. Had you researched you would know that you CANNOT breed them in a tank with other fish. You would know that you CANNOT breed a male to 3 females. Research would have told you that you need a 10 gallon breeding tank, a sponge filter, a heater, lots of plants on one side of the breeding tank and a hurricane lamp cover. Please DO NOT breed these fish until you have researched and know what you are doing. What do you mean you have 2 females that are in "season"? I do not know what that means. And to let you know, your tank is grossly over populated and even if the Betta's were able to breed in that tank, the fry will be eaten by every fish in that tank.
