Question
I have four in a six gallon tank is this to small?
When I put them in the water became foggy what can I do?
I am feeding them cichlid pellets what is the best food?
They keep going to the back of the tank will they eventually begin to swim around?

Hi Francine,
Parrot fish need big tanks.  Four parrot fish would need at least a 50 gallon tank which as cycled.  I'm sorry to tell you, that parrot fish will not survive very long in a 6 gallon tank, which as not been cycled, and is extremely too small for them.  Fish that get big, and are kept in small tanks get very very sick.  Their growth is stunted, their internal organs have no place to grow, and they die a horrible death.  Please consider returning them to your pet store as quickly as possible, or they will soon die.  These fish are cichlids, get big, need lots of hiding places, space to swim, and a cycled tank.  Once you have returned them, cycle your tank before adding fish to it. Once your tank has cycled you could put in 6 neons, OR three platys..( one male, two females)
I'm sorry, but you must do what is best for these fish, and do it quickly as they will die.
