Fish: Floating sideways- is it dying?

23 14:44:25

Question
One of my ciclid fish is floating at the top of the tank sideways, and has been doing such since December 25.  It's now December 26, and while my mother thinks he's dying, I think if it was dying, it would have died already.  It generally stays in the same spot, moving it front fins.  It's breathing, maybe a bit quickly, but other than all that, I can't find anything wrong (no cuts or signs that the other fish have attacked it).

Is this just a natural thing, or is there something wrong?  And if so, are my other fish in danger?

Answer
Hi Kiris,
Unfortunately that doesn't sound very good at all.  Most likely it is something wrong with just that fish.
It could be that it is injured, but it could be that it is
trying to hide from other fish -- is that a possibility?
