HELP! First Betta Fish

Question
I just got a crowntail Betta 4 days ago. He is in a 1 gallon bowl right now until I can afford a 5 gallon tank which will be in a month or so.  On the 2nd day I had him he started to build a bubble nest but also stopped eating. He would just put the pellet in his mouth and spit it back out. He ate 4 pellets the first day I got him. I changed his water 100% thinking it was because his water is dirty (it was real cloudy). If this doesn't work is he sick? And I bought a Betta medication online claiming to cure and prevent MOST Betta illnesses if he turns out not to be sick after I give him the meds will it hurt him?

Answer
Congrats on the crowntail, they are gorgeous fish.

As for the eating problem, it isnt really a problem at all. He isnt eating becasue the food is to dry. If you soften the food in water, he will most likely pig out on them. I had the same problem. A five gallon would be a much better abode for him, but as a broke highschool drummer, i have money problesm too. When you do get his tank, make sure you cycle it.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks,
