QuestionHow big in inches do my cichlids have to be to breed. and how do i tell whether or not they will? if you could help me out that would be appreciated!
AnswerHi Mark,
Jack Dempseys can breed at as small as about 4 inches or so for the male, maybe 3 inches for the female. Convicts can breed at very small sizes with the female only 3/4 of an inch long and the male about an inch, though normally they start a little larger than this size. For example, a two inch convict can definitely breed.
