Black moor, red eye ring

I have a four year old black moor with three mates in a 10 gallon tank.  About a week ago a red ring started forming in its left eye, around the edge.  The eye does not appear cloudy and he can see, as well as can be expected. Appetite seems fine, swims fine, no other apparent issues. I noticed a small redness in the lower edge of the right eye, tonight. Do fish get pink eye?  Could it be a burst blood vessel?  Is it genetic? Any advise is appreciated.

Hi Ken,
I used to have a black moore also and he had the same thing. It is common for a black moore to have an eye pop out or have a little redness. But keep watching it and if it gets worse than just write me back at tiefenbachben@yahoo.com and I can assist you and if I don't know the answer than I will do some research.
