The organic sea salt is great.  Long as it's got no iodine. Check the ingredients.

QUESTION: I'm really glad he's looking better now too :) will check the ingredients will it be under iodine in the ingredients list? if not what will it come under?

Just a odd question to ask, but what sort of things could i put in the fish tank with him to give him something to do?
Feel bad that he has nothing

ANSWER: Hi Tess,

This is exactly what you should see on any salt you add to a fish tank, if it's not marine salt.

Ingredients:  SALT

That's it.  Nothing else. :)

QUESTION: it didn't have an ingredients list, was just natural sea salt and kelp, so i dissolve some in some water and put it in the tank for a few hours than changed his water, I have also notice his left gill is swollen, could the bacteria have gotten in there and will the salt kill it?

I will go looking for marine salt when i get paid.
He hasn't been floating or looking distressed so i am taking this as a good sign, and is there anything i can put in the tank for him to play with?

Thanks
Tess

Answer
Hi Tess,

This does sound like he's doing better, not being distressed or floating.  The one issue is the swollen gill, but often there are parasites and such we don't see harboring in a gill.  The salt will rid them if that's the case.  Not salted too soon! :)

Keep up the good work.  It sounds like it's going well, and yes, the bacteria should perish with time.  Keep the tank spotless meantime.

Happy fish-keeping.
