Sexing Malawi Cichlids

Question
Hi I was wondering how do you sex these cichlids? I have an electric yellow, blue
as well as a orange and dark blue/purple.
Some of them have the "egg spots" but I don't know what else. The electric blue
is the biggest and the dominant, so I would assume a male.
Thanks,

Answer
Hi Brendan,
Each species of Malawi cichlid is different.  For example, with electric yellows, the males are a more intense yellow.

For the other species, it is pretty much impossible to say without knowing which species they are.  In some, the males are a little brighter than the females, in others the males are bright and the females are very dull.  In others the male is one color (e.g., blue) and the female is another color (e.g., orange). It all depends on the species.

In some of them, males have egg spots and feamles don't. In others, males have more egg spots than females.
