African Cichlid Society

 Hi Ron, I was talking to someone on line and they were telling me that there is an African Cichlid society that goes state to state and sells Cichlids. I live in Colorado and I honestly have no idea as to where I could find information on this upcoming event. Unfortunatly the person I was chatting with did not have info readily available either...Do you have any information? I really would like to attend this event? Please let me know....thanks  kimberly

 Hmmm... I am really well connected to the hobby and I know of no such thing.  However, there are clubs all over the States that hold events in their own areas. Some of these are general fish clubs and others are cichlid specific.  For example, in Colorado there is the Rocky Mountain Cichlid Association.

These clubs often have fish auctions at which the fish typically sell for MUCH less than what you would pay in a store.  Plus they are a great way to meet folks. I go to several such clubs in my area.  

 There is also the national (actually international) American Cichlid Association.  We have a big convention once a year.  This year I was one of the hosts, here in Sacramento, next year it will be in Atlanta.
