Platy Problem

Question
QUESTION: I had three platy fish that I bought from Pet Co and one died in about twenty four hours and another died the next day. But before I bought the fish I tested the water, and all was fine. Do you Know why they died so soon? Only one of the three are still alive and he is lonely!

 Unfortunately that is very hard for me to say.  Did you have an airstone and heater in the tank?

QUESTION: (Responding to your reply)- I don't have either, but I check the thermometer everyday, and it is in the 72 to 82 degree range, and that is what the Pet Co site said it is suppose to be.Do you think that they could of had a disease before I bought them? And to let you know the one fish is still alive and seems fine.

Hi Joe,
  They could have had a disease.  If you are going to keep tropical fish, you really need a heater and for any fish you need an air supply to the water.
