tank set up

I am currently setting up a35g tank. I'd like to get 2 parrot fish or one & maybe a peacock cichlid. Would I be able to put my betta in with them peacefully?

If you are talking about the african peacock cichild, no, you cannot put a betta in with him, and I wouldn't put a parrot fish in with peacocks.  The african peacock cichlid is very territorial, lives in alkaline water which is 8.0 and over.  They do not mix...The parrot fish lives in 7.0 and is shy, and docile.  I'm sorry to tell you but NO, you cannot mix these fish...The betta should not be kept with cichlids.
