Answer
Jessi,

Sorry to hear you hare having problems. Once the Heron knows there are fish there he will keep coming back. There are a couple things you can try. Make sure the pond has a lot of hiding places so he can't get them. Long tubes at the bottom make good cover. I know some people put nets over the pond. My Uncle had the same problem and he fixed it with decorations. He ended up putting a decorative fence around the pond and added a screen over top. On the other pond, he put solar lights that were about three feet high. He placed then about 8 inches apart all around the pond. You can try fish line. Just string it across the top as many times as you like. The bird can't get in and you can still see the fish. If the Heron feels it cannot just get in and get out he won't try. Those guys like to hit and run.
