Gold fish breeding

Question
Hi Nick

I have a pond with about 16 goldfish/comets in it
They are about 7-9 cm long and the pond is a triangle shape
and it is big

I have had my fish since december and i have got no babies from them. I live in Australia so it is winter at the moment
My questions are
Is there a certain season of the year when goldfish breeding occurs?
Does there have to be plants in it for breeding
And how do you tell if a fish is pregnant

Thanks for your time nick
Mitch

Answer
Hello!

They usually breed in the spring through summer, in the fall too sometimes but it is rarer.

There doesn't have to be plants but there should be anyways.

It's hard to tell from the surface. But you should be able to see er a little rounder and slower moving than the others.
