Hi there, I have a normal fish bowl, I got a goldie in it, but thot it would fill lonely so went an got 1 more for her.it was redhead oranda or something.yesterday I found him dead floating in bowl.
I did observr that she been openinh and closing her mouth for last 2 days.I thot thats' how they play.Now I got a big bowl with a capacity of 10 litres ,i need you guidance on how many fishes to keep, normally 5 can go in, but I prefer 2 Goldies.Now my other Gold fish is not cruising around, she is trying to open her mouth.I changed the water dechlorised the water fed her, so what is that Iam not doing it. Hi Dr. Ola;

Your poor little fish are suffocating from lack of oxygen and from burning gills due to ammonia from their waste. Goldfish bowls are simply not large enough for goldfish and do not have adequate filtration. Goldfish need a regular tank with good filtration in order to survive. Each goldfish requires at least 40 liters of water because they are messy and grow to be over 15 cm long. Here is a web site with more info;
