My betta fish is really sick and I need help

Question
For over a week now my betta has been acting
very sick. I've done research and believe he
has swim bladder disease but I need advise.
My friends mom has been watching him for 4 days
and she feed him WAY to much food at once
leaving the bowl a very atmosphere. I also
think he might have fin rot since today I've
noticed that his tip of the tail is breaking.
I had him in a 2 gallon tank and used aquarium
salt also. When I noticed him sickly, I moved him
to a little fish bowl with a couple inches of water.
since he's having a hard time to reach the top.
I also put him in the warmest room in the house
(I live in Hawaii so our temperature is pretty
High around 78- 85 degrees) Also have a towel
over the bowl to help destress him.
I've been fasting him to help with the SBD or
constipation and I'm planning to feed
him a frozen pea to aid also. I've been
treating him with API sulfa powder
to help with the fin rot http://aquariumpharm.com/Products/Produc..
its been couple days and I' getting worried.
Anyone have experiece that can help me!?
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!

Here are his symptoms....
-stays at bottom
-pale
-clamped fins ( kinda looks like fin rot b/c its slowly breaking apart)
-curves his body to the left
- only uses one of his side fins (only uses both when he's startled)
-and there's a white cottony speck on his head right after his gills
- doesn't eat or poop

Answer
Hi Cori Ann,
Your betta is in very bad shape.  If he is eating, give him the pea treatment, and if he doesn't waste quickly you must buy him an antibiotic.  "Kanamycin" is a very good antibiotic for swim bladder disease.  If you cannot find it, then use Tetracycline or Furan2.
The antibiotic will help him with fungus too.  Don't wait too long, as bettas can go down really fast.  Put him back in his two gallon, and buy a silk plant at your Pet Store that reaches the top of your two gallon.  He will be less stressed, and will lie on the leaves.
Hope he get well soon
