Breeding In General

Question
I read earlier that one of you said in a past answer that a breeding net is a bad idea.  What if the fish are born in the net and what if water can flow freely through the net?  Are the babies able to live within this environment or not?  And would a tank be a lot better or no?

Answer
Hi Chris,
You usually use a breeding net for guppies, and platies..mollies need lots of space to swim when having their babies.  You didn't mention the fish you have.  I am assuming they are guppies.  You can use a breeding net for the fry for a little while, then it would be much better to have them in a tank.  You must feed them 4 times a day, and make water changes everyday, even if they are in a breeding net.  Ammonia builds up quickly in a tank, especially when feeding fry 4 times a day.  Water changes also makes them grow faster, and keeps them healthy.  If you can put them in a tank, it would be much better for them.
Hope this helps
