Question
hiya ron
iv had my red oscar for just over a year now, im  used to his behavior and characteristics but he just seems to have been unhappy for the last day or two. its mainly moodswings and thrashing the decor of the tank about but he has been attacking the other fish in the tank. my tank is 4ft so it can't be the size. can u help me

Answer
Hi Tom,
Have you been doing lots of regular weekly water changes?  The kind of behavior you are seeing is often an early sign of degrading water quality.  You should be changing 25% of the water, once a week, every week, to keep an oscar happy.  And be sure not to overfeed as that can quickly degrade the water quality.
