orb fish tanks

hi I'm concerned about the damage that could be caused to my fish's eye sight by keeping them in an orb tank.i have recently been told the shape of the tank could cause problems.pet stores sell these tanks without raising this welfare issue.please can you give me any info on this matter.regards Gayle

just as a laugh, wouldnt refraction of light via water ripples do the same thing? should we turn off our filters? no...

The light will be a problem regardless of tank shape, thats why we avoid windows, and bright light sources. the biOrb system is simply way too over priced to be practical anyway, you're better off investing the 150$ in a nice 30 gallon tank/stand combo.

I'd simply suggest to go with your gut. if it looks like a duck, smells like a duck, and costs as much as keeping a duck... go with a fish. ;)
