QuestionQUESTION: Hello Ron,
I have what i think is a flower pot cichlid, and when i bought her she had spit one fry out at the store. How do i tell if she still has more to spit out or if that is all? Also what do you think of the combination of fish i have in my 55 gallon tank, 1 tiger oscar, 1 albino oscar, 1 convict, 1 red blood parrot and the what i think is a flower pot cichlid. also do you have any pictures of flowerpot cichlids you could show me so im certain that is what i have?
Thanks
Marc
ANSWER: Hi Marc,
Do you mean a flowerhorn cichlid? Hmmm... that can't be right because flowerhorns are not mouth brooders. They lay eggs on the substrate. Sorry, but I do not have any photos of flowerhorns.

AnswerHi Marc,
I think it is probably okay for now but in the long run you are going to have troubles. As the oscars grow larger, they will have a strong tendency to want to eat the other fish. If the other fish are large enough not to be eaten, you are likely looking at a fair bit of fighting in that tank. Personally, I wouldn't keep two oscars in a tank smaller than a 75 gallon.
