male betta

i have a male betta he is blue with hints of red but he seems to be fading colour on his body so no longer is blue what can be cousing this there is a female betta in the tank as well

Well first off, there should not be a female in the tank with the male. This could be stressing him out. Do they have a heater set between 80 and 82 degrees? What are your water perimeters? How often do you do water changes and how much are you changing? What are you feeding him and how big is his tank? I need as much information that you can give me in order to answer your question.
