QuestionHi Ron,
Had a couple of queries about my new (and first ever) fish. He's an electric yellow (8cm long), had a bad run in a mop bucket for the last week before i saved him from a trip down the porcelain express. He's now living in a little 20L tank in my office. I've checked the water PH, fed him flake food for tropical fish & invested in a little plastic plant. Apparently he has blood in his gills - can't find anything about that symptom but it supposedly means he's stressing out? Any ideas? Also the black fin bit on his back has faded to grey... He seems reasonably active though, keeps picking up rocks in his mouth & spitting them at me through the glass. 1 last query - should i put another plant in the tank - was worried about crowding him but from my limited research it seems like these fish like places to hide... Thankyou in advance for any assistance you can offer. R
AnswerHi Rhiannon,
More plants would definitely help.
Be sure to do regularly weekly partial water changes. You should change 25% of his water once a week, every week.
