Question
I have a female betta living w/a dwarf frog in a 1/2 gallon bowl & they seem to be just fine. I did have a male betta w/them too but he didn't live very long (abt 3 weeks). Now the betta has a swollen abdomen. She is white/pink in color naturally & now the belly looks grayish in color where she is swollen. She is doing just fine as is the frog. Do you know what might be ?wrong? w/her if anything?
Thanks for any feedback.

Answer
Hi Moriah;

She may have eggs in her but watch out for constipation. It is common in bettas and can be fatal if not treated. Keep the temperature of her tank up at least to 76 degrees so she can digest properly. Females will reabsorb the eggs eventually if they don't have a male with them to breed with, as long as she is healthy. Here is a link to more on constipation;
