oscar scrapped side of body

Hi Ron

Long time guess I'm not having many problems these days.

My tank cover fell in the aquarium when I got up this morning my 7yr old Oscar was scrapped up pretty good along his body but he is eating and acting normal, besides weekly water changes anything to help him heal or keep him from getting a disease? without medicine>? or if I do need meds? water conditions are good. Am 0 Nitrites 0 Nitrates .20

Hi Fran,
  I've done that (drop the cover in the tank).  Personally I would just let him heal.  I would not add any meds but keep an eye out for fungus sprouting from the wound. If that happens, you should consider and anti-fungal treatment.  

P.S. Large oscars are pretty robust and usually heal well.
