Flowerhorn Sits at the corner of aquarium with black stripes on it

hi i got a monkey head Fh of 4inch size i got it on 23rd of january it became active with in 1 day.from 3 days it is sitting at the cornor of aquarium and hiding near the heater or the filter.it does eats the food but then again go back to the cornor of the aquarium.A friend of mine suggest to give him a medicine and change 50% of water every 3 days.it has beeen more than 8 hrs but still no change in the behaviour of the fish.some times stripes gets dark and some times light.

Ali,    Trust me these guy's are very tough. Medication probably wasn't necessary. Especially if it is a new tank. It takes longer for your tank to cycle down if it's new (again). Water changes definitely necessary if it's a new tank. This sounds like typical behavior from a fish in a tank cycling down if it's new. I am sorry it took so long for us to get back to you. Make sure your heat is set around 70 degree's. Just an interesting fact about your new baby, these fish are not a natural breed they are a man made hybrid. Many people are not familiar with this fish. If you have anymore question's or are having anymore problems ask me.
