MY FINCH

Question
I have a sweet little finch ( zebra finch I think ) that I have had for three years. A female who regularly lays eggs. She has a nest and always seems to be very happy and fond of me. I purchased her with a canary who died several months ago. After a week, I replaced the canary, and once again "finchy" cohabitates with a canary I think is a male. They seem to get along very well, I never see any agression. MY QUESTION is that recently I have notices a bald spot on the back of her neck, and under her left side wing. The spot on her back of neck is about 1//4" diam, and under her wing larger..1/2" diam. I am worried about her and am not sure what to do. No blood, just pink with NO feathers and they do not seem to be coming back. I appreciate your advice. Kind Regards

Answer
First of all, NEVER put a finch with a canary! You might not see any aggression but that doesn't mean there isn't any. That bald spot could be the male picking at her feathers. They should be separated at once. A canary can kill a finch and there's nothing the finch can do.
