billy the budgie

ive had my budgie billy about 2 months now and he is quite tame but when ever i try to train him he flys away when hes outside the cage.at this very moment he is eating seed out of my hair!i would like to know what you think i should do.another thing i want to ask is if i have his wings clipped will they grow back if so how long will it take?

Hello Joe! Billy flies away from you when outside the cage because your giving him lots of space to escape. When training, train in a small room. Also his wings could probably use a clipping if he is flying and getting far. Clipping a birds wings is painless. Its like clipping your finger nail. The wings do grow back in time. Wings take about a couple months to fully grow in. Its wonderful hes eating seeds out of your hair! he is preening and treats you like another bird.  good luck!
