new bird friend

Hi i just asked my boyfriend about getting a bird, so we went to the pet shop and looked but the shop assistant said that birds should not be kept outside, i would really love it if you could help me with this one.

thank you for your question.
It depends on where you live and how much room you have for an outside aviary. You can keep budgies and other parrots outside, but they need to have access to a heated shelter where the temperature never drops below a certain point, depending on the species you want to keep. So you cannot keep them outside just in a cage, you would need am aviary that provides shelter from sun and rain as well as the indoor shelter..
