Budgies singing like other birds

Question
Is it common for my budgies to sing like this?  I've had 2 female budgies together for almost 3 years now and they never really liked each much, so I just recently bought them a mate. But I noticed that the mates don't mimick other specie's birds "singing" like my 2 females do. The 2 females commonly call birds of other species (Il live in L.A. and take them outside almost everyday) exactly as the other species sounds and the birds call them back, so they talk to each other. I don;t recognize the species of th other birds, but it's more than one and I only recognize the crow sound, which my 2 female mimick and they sound just like a crow and all the other bird species they mimick.

Answer
Dear Sergio,
thank you for your question.
It's not that common for them as with other parrot species like African Greys, but some budgies will learn to imitate other birds or other things they hear. I've had a budgie who learned to imitate the sounds of a zebra finch perfectly, we kept both species at that time. It's possible that the males just don't have such a talent for imitating sounds like your females have or they just need a bit longer to learn it.
I hope I was of some help to you
Jennifer
