Answer
Hello Rizwan,

Breeding takes alot of determination and patience. The first thing to do is get for sure male and female budgie. They have to get to know each other for a while (maybe a 1-2 months) so that they are pair bonded. They also have to both be in breeding season, but if the conditions are right (extended hours of light...) it is possible for them to breed when you want them to. Once they feed and preen each other and always want to be together and call to each other when they are in separate rooms, etc, (pair bonding) then you should put a nest box in the cage with them. This will trigger the birds to mate and later lay eggs and have babies. You need to check the box at least once day from the time the mother starts being in there all the time until the time when the babies are hatched and ready to leave the nest box. Make sure the budgies have an abundance of food when they are breeding and when there are babies. Also, be sure to have cuttle bones and calcium replacements for your female. She depletes her calcium supply when she lays eggs. For the most part, the mother and father will completely take care of everything from laying eggs to the raising of the babies. You do need to have some pre-made hand feeding formula just in case one of the babies is rejected or treated poorly. I will give you a couple good websites to go to, to get more info.
