Rusty Cage PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi Maggie!
I recently bought a secound hand bird cage, which was the home of a cockatiel before i got it. It had a few spots of rust on it, so i roughly sanded of the rust and spray painted over those areas with a non-toxic black paint. Is it safe to put another cockatiel in it now?

Yes, the cage sounds like it would be safe now (as long as the paint has had at least 2 days to air-out outside).

Just keep a very close eye on your cockatiel and make sure he/she doesn't chip any of the paint off or anything.
