hi tara, well i'm not going to breed him... or her... but i just wanted t know so i could give him/her the appropriate name... wel.. he does tweet a lot and he bites so how do i get him to stop biting? also his beak cracks a lot... and he jumps around a lot too... hes very wild....

i have an orange and green hookbill lovebird and he's happy and everything but i don't know how old he is. i'm not even sure if he is a boy. how can i tell how old he is and if he's a femal or male?

You can't tell how old he is and for sexing you'll need a DNA blood test by an avian vetrenaerian... unless your breeding him consider do you really need to kno what sex the bird is? Also if the bird is tweeting alot it could be male thou females tweet also, Females once breeding age will pull strips of paper/gravel paper or toys apart and stick the strips under the wing feathers males will mate with perches/hands/toys ect.

Hello Gabby, Well that just sounds like a baby lovebird lol. Beak cracking means nothing as does being active and biting, Thou I have noticed in birds females bite more offen and harder, if you wait a few months and watch you might be able to find out visually through behaviers. You could also choose a name that is ment for male and female like Mertil, Selen, Stacy, Cory, or inical names such as T.J, J.T, J.D ect.
