discoloration on parakeets beak

Question
My granddaughter has a blue and yellow keet that is approximately three months old. We've noticed that he has some light colored discoloration on the corner of his beak closest to his mouth. It seems to be getting a little bigger in the past couple of weeks. What could it be and how can I get rid of it?
Thanks for any help,
Sincerely,
Jennifer

Answer
Hi, Jennifer.

I'd have to see a picture of the beak in order to help.  You can send to ripleybird@netzero.net.  Could be the beak is coloring out as the bird is getting older.  Is the bird showing any signs of illness?  What type of diet?  Any other birds in the home?  When did this discoloration start?
