Age? Does it matter?

Question
I got these cockatiels from a breeder. She said they are perfectly healthy. She did tell us if we wanted to know the sex, we would have to do a DNA test on them. They were handfed as babies. I wanted to ask if the age matters? They are about six years old?

Answer
Hello again,

Providing avian veterinary care is part of the basics of bird care. You do need to take them to your own avian veterinarian and discuss this behavior.

Otherwise I recommend that training that I suggested before. No matter the age or sex parrots need us to teach them skills to live in our home. This can only be done through fun positive activities and training.

If you find that you need more help the next step is to work with a professional parrot consultant. You are welcome to contact me privately for references.
