Just acquired a pet dove...

Question
A friend of mine just moved to a new apartment where she could not have any pets, so I agreed to adopt her pet dove, Gwenevere. She assured me that Gwen was quiet, loving, and very easy to care for. While Gwen is very good at night, she "talks" non-stop (literally) during the day, beginning at about 8 a.m. I'm wondering if perhaps she is upset about something or if she just has a lot to say.
Also, I read that doves need time out of their cages every day, so I release her into my bathroom to play (roommate's cat plus new dove equals bathroom play only). When she's in the bathroom, though, she tends to sit on the towel rod and sort of lean over with her head or beak on the towel and "talk." I read that males perform bow coos, so is this what she is doing even though she is female? Or is she under some kind of distress?
And one last question, for now. I am told Gwen will lay eggs, how long should I wait before taking them out of her cage? They cannot have baby doves in them, since no male is present, but I worry about upsetting her by taking them!
I want so much to provide Gwenevere with a safe home where she is happy and content 100% of the time, hopefully your answers can help me do that! Thanks!

Answer
Hi there,

I would fists figure out if she is defiantly a she. Unless she has laid eggs before, the only way you can tell for sure is a blood DNA test. It does sound like she is a he...

Also, if she does lay eggs, it wont bother her too much if you take them out. Birds get a bit annoyed if you take them out while they are sitting on them, but it isn't too distressing.

Doves like to hide and dig about and flirt, so maybe read up on some ideas of making a bigger cage for her with dove type activities in them. They like to rummage around for grubs in the wild.

Let me know what happens about finding out her sex.
