budgie beak

Question
I have had my male budgie for three years and he is currently four years old. About two months ago he had hit his beak and caused a bruise. This bruise seemed to speed up the growth process until the beak was so long i had to get it trimmed up. He has a cuttle bone and chew perch but his beak keeps growing. He doesn't have a liver problem and the vet i took him to says i just have to keep getting his beak trimmed but that seems really annoying for my bird to go through every 3-4 weeks. Is there anything i can do for my bird?

Answer
Sara,

I'm sorry but your vet is correct. There is nothing you can do to stop the growth of your birds beak. It does seem to be growing really fast though. I've had birds that I've had to get their beaks trimmed once every three to four months but not weeks. Sorry to hear this, wish I could have given you better news.
