Budgies Cere changing from blue to grey

Question
Hi,

Our male budgie who is 6 years old had a bright blue cere.  Recently we have noticed that the blue color is gone and now a clam shell color (beigish) should we be alarmed or is this just something that happens when they get older.

Answer
Hello Greta and thank you for your post.
If your budgie is acting normal, then I would not be alarmed.  I have a young parakeet that I am not sure of the sex of yet.  It was a rescue, and it's cere changes color from day to day.
If your bird is not acting normal, then I would take it into a Certified avian Vet to have it checked out.

Good luck and God Bless.
