QuestionI am not sure you give advice on wild birds-I have a very strange question! I have a pet blue jay (tame and in cage) that occasionally bleeds slightly from tail area. I have not seen any wound. Unable to tell if the blue jay is male or female--do blue jays have menstral periods? (and is there any problem just letting it occur?) Only about a drop of blood is noticed at a time. Thanks.
AnswerHello,
Um, well normally I would not answer questions like this, but the answer, birds do not have menstrual periods, when a female bird lays an egg every month or so, that is considered their period. But what I would do is just take the bird to a wildlife vet or a wildlife center. A normal vet would probably be useless with a blue jay.
-Hope my little knowledge helps! ;)
