Question
I have a parakeet and I get along with it very well. I really want another bird like a parrot. Can a parakeet and a parrot live in the same cage without killing each other.

Answer
Hello Arianna,

Although I have seen many species get along well together that does not mean they should share the same cage. For one, there is not a cage made that is really appropriately large enough for a single larger parrot. So no, they should not be housed together but can interact when they are out for the day on their playgyms.

I encourage you to continue to research parrots as much as you can before getting your new bird. My website has several links to some great parrot websites that can help you.
