Aggresive cockrel

Question
Dear Sammy,
we have a 9 month old cockrel and one hen. He has become very aggresive, during the last week, towards anyone who goes near him. Is it the time of year? What can we do?
We also have two young hens (2 months) which we are due to put with the others next month. Is this ok with him being aggresive?
    Thank you    Puchi

Answer
you can tame him up by holding him and hand feeding him. better to start now before his spurs grow in. in the spring roosters do become more aggresive because thats mating time (although they mate most of the year, this is the most important time for the roosters) what you want to do first is show him whos boss...grab him and hold him upside down by the legs. once he knows that you are in charge, he will start to calm down. now what you want to do is hand feed him, and give him treats. this way he knows that you are his friend. spend lots of time with him, carry him around (not upside down) and in no time you'll have a well behaved rooster
