my turtle is sick

i had a red ear slider turtle at home. his got a lump on his cheek, apparently like a cheek infections. besides bringing him to see a vet, what can i do? please advise.

Why don't you want to bring him to a vet?  If you had an infection in your cheek how would you feel if your mother didn't bring you to the doctor?

The lump needs to be removed BY A VET.

I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but there is nothing you can do but take him to the vet.  He is probably in pain.
